Irvin P. Nowacki Sr.

October 14, 1915 – November 27, 1993

SOUTH BEND – Irvin P. “Slim” Nowacki Sr., 75, of Indiana 2, died at 10:20pm Saturday in St Joseph’s Medical Center of natural causes.  Mr. Nowacki retired from Bendix Corp. after 46 years of service.

He was born October 14, 1918, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.  On January 24, 1942, in South Bend, he married Helen Skwiat.  She survives with a daughter, Mary K. Pecsi of South Bend; two sons, John Sr. & Irvin Jr., both of South Bend; five grandchildren; a great grandchild; two sister, Selma Staszewski and Rita Huber, both of South Bend; and a brother, Edward Sr. of South Bend.

He was a veteran of World War II and member of Pioneer Auto Association, Hoosier Model A Club, Eagles Lodge, Army-Navy Union 146 and Bendix Local 9 of the United Auto Workers union.

Services will be at 11am Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church.  Entombment will be in Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum of St Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9pm Tuesday in St Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7pm.
