Mrs. Charlotte F. Novis, age 81, of 147 East Paris street,
died Sunday after several years illness.
She was born in South Bend Sept. 27, 1869, and lived her entire life here. She was married to Peter J. Novis, who died in 1934. Mr. and Mrs. Novis were proprietors of the Novis Sweet shops, and retired in 1920.
Surviving are a son, Forest G. Novis, South Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Byron Bury, Benton Harbor, Mich.; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Ort, of Mishawaka, and a sister, Mrs. Ida Barnes, South Bend.
Friends may call in the Hay funeral home today and until the funeral there at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Wilson A. Parks, pastor of Broadway Evangelical United Brethren church, will officiate. Burial will be in city cemetery. She was a member of the Broadway church.
