Gerald "Jerry" Notteboom,
65, of Milburn Boulevard, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an
illness at 9:20 a.m. on Monday, June 21, in Saint Jo seph's
Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Mr. Notte-boom was born
on Dec. 19, 1933, in Mishawaka, as the son of the late Julius and
Alice (Claeys) Notteboom. He was also preceded in death by
a sister, Jackie Notteboom in 1970. On May 28, 1955, in Our Lady
of Hungary Catholic Church, South Bend, he married the former
Lorraine Zmudzinski. Mr. Notteboom is survived by his wife
Lorraine of 44 years; a daughter, Christine (Michael) Markham
of Granger, Ind.; a son, Scott (Diane) Notteboom of South Bend;
two grandchildren, Kelli Notteboom and Adam Notteboom; and by a
brother, James Notteboom of Indianapolis, Ind. Mr. Notteboom was
employed by the former Uniroyal in Mishawaka for 39 years and,
because of Uniroyal's closing, took early retirement. Mr.
Notteboom was currently employed by Ameri Source in Mishawaka. He
was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, where he
was an usher as well as a server. He was a U.S. Army veteran and
a former member of the Eagles, Mishawaka. He was also a past
president of the Southwest Little League.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Rosary will recited at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Robert Yast officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Osceola, Ind. Contributions in memory of Mr. Notteboom may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
