Mrs. Evelyn Meegan Norman, 69, of 501
South Scott Street, South Bend, Ind., expired on Wednesday, Sept.
8, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born on Sept. 26,
1929, in Mishawaka, Ind., to the late Charlie and Maggie Norman.
She formerly resided in Flint, Mich., where
she was a member the Eastern Star. Before moving to Flint she was
a member of Saint John Missionary Baptist Church under the
leadership of the late Rev. Bernard White. She is survived by her
son, Dennis Norman and his wife, Linda; 15 grandchildren and 16
great-grandchildren; four brothers, Earl Thompson, Rev.
Grady Thompson and R.T. Norman, all of South Bend, and Archie
Thompson of Flint, Mich. She is also survived by several nieces,
two of them, Lyene Cannon and Gloria Saunders of
South Bend; and several nephews, one of these, Leroy Cobb
of South Bend; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in
the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral
service.
