SOUTH BEND - Louise M. Niemann, 91, of St. Paul's
Retirement Community passed away at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, May 21,
2008, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Louise was born on
December 20, 1916, in South Bend to John and Louise (Gliechwait)
Gruber. She retired from South Bend Controls in 1979,
after 27 years. Mrs. Niemann was a member of Our Lady of Hungary
Church, its Sacred Heart & Rosary Society and the Red Hat
Club at St. Paul's.
On June 24, 1939, in South Bend, she married
Walter P. Niemann. He died on October 10, 2003. Louise was also
preceded in death by two sisters, Cecelia Prestzwor and
Theresa Solmos; and two brothers, John Gruber and Frank
Gruber. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra (Tom) Hinkle and
Mary (Tim) Weber, both of South Bend; three sons, William
(Donna) Niemann of Edwardsburg, Richard (Susan) Niemann of
Bristol and Walter Niemann Jr. of Marcellus; nine grandchildren,
Joseph Niemann, Dr. T.J. Niemann, Janelle Stewart, Noret Flood,
Kristie Sandor, Jeff Hinkle, Tom Hinkle Jr., Philip Weber,
and Scott Weber; 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Hedwige
Horvath and Margaret (Joseph) Redling both of South
Bend.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008 in Our Lady of
Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens, Osceola. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 Friday
in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue where a Rosary
will be recited at 4:30. Memorial contributions may be made to
Our Lady of Hungary Church Building Fund.
