Mrs. Elizabeth A. Niedbala, 80, who resided at 25890 Jill St., Edwardsburg, passed away Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the emergency room of Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Ind., after having an apparent heart attack at her home. She was taken to the hospital by Edwardsburg ambulance.
Mrs. Niedbala was born Oct. 21, 1915, in South Bend, the daughter of Adolph and Mary (Kopinski) Cenkush and was educated in schools in South Bend. It was in South Bend that she was married on Oct. 28, 1939. As Elizabeth Cenkush, she married Leo Robert Niedbala. He died Feb. 22, 1984.
Surviving is a blessed son, Ronald L. Neidbala of Edwardsburg and loving sisters and a brother, Dorothy Rynearson and Mrs. Alex (Ann) Dukai, both of South Bend and Virginia Bauert of Mishawaka and John Cenkush and his wife Shirley of Mishawaka, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, Sept. 16, from 2 to 9 p.m. (Michigan Time) at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home where rosary prayers will be said at 8:45 p.m. Monday by Father David Otto.
The Mass of Resurrection will be Tuesday, Sept. 17, at noon (Michigan Time) in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, of which she was a member. Officiating will be Father David Otto, pastor.
Friends will also be received at the church for one hour before the funeral mass on Tuesday. Memorials may be made in the form of masses to her church.
