SOUTH BEND - Ruth E. Vascil-Nicodemus, 88, of Robertson's Apartments, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Vascil-Nicodemus was employed at the Credit Bureau and at The Frances Shop. She was born on Sept. 9, 1910, in Elgin, Ill., to Jeremiah and Marybelle Holley, who both preceded her in death.

On Feb. 10, 1934, in South Bend, she married William J. Vascil, who died on June 19, 1981. On June 30, 1984, she married John P. Nicodemus, who also preceded her in death on March 5, 1998. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon and her husband Don; a stepdaughter, Kathleen (Kenneth) Gross; a stepson, Christopher J. Nicodemus; two grandsons, Joshua (Elizabeth) and Noah; and by three step-grandsons and three step-great-grandchildren. Ruth was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Church and its Harvest House.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Church or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
