Roy E. Nicodemus, 76, of Wawaka, Ind.,
formerly of South Bend, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, in University
Park Nursing Center, Fort Wayne.
He was born April 18, 1930, in South Bend,
the son of the late, Nile and Lena (Lesley) Nicodemus. He retired
in 1990, as service supervisor from Nipsco after 30 years of
service. He was a member of Plymouth Masonic Lodge F. & A. M.
Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, former member of Wabash
Kiwanis Club, Culver, Jaycees, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Wabash.
He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and a
member of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved fishing
and golf. Roy was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren,
family, and his church. He will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years,
Mildred E. Nicodemus, who married Roy on Sept. 23, 1950, in
Mishawaka; daughter, Nancy (Gordon) Lewis of Leo and Sandra
(Jeffry) Zolnosky of Fort Wayne; son, Robert (Sally) Nicodemus of
Columbus, Ind.; grandchildren, Kara, Collin, Evan, Aaron Lewis,
Ashley Eads, Mary, Marc, and Hal Jennings; sisters, Dorothy
Buytas of Plant City, Fla.; Janette (Jack) Armey of Bradenton,
Fla., and Doloris Lewis of Gooding, Idaho; a brother, Ted (Wilma)
Nicodemus-Raub of Corpus Christi, Texas; and brother-in-law, Rev.
Arthur Mahler of Papaw, Mich.
He was preceded in death by sister, Louise
Mahler in March 2006.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in
Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church, 10145 Maysville Road, with
calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
today in McComb & Sons, Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017
Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be at Bowers Cemetery,
Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkview Home
Health & Hospice or to Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church.
