Melinda "Mindy" A. Nickel, 37,
of 1111 North
Michigan Street, Plymouth, Indiana, died after a brief illness at
4:52 p.m. Monday, June 12, in her residence.
She was born on July 31, 1962, in Plymouth, and
was a resident of Plymouth all her life.
Mindy graduated from John Glenn High School in 1980.
She attended Manchester College and Ancilla College, and received
an associate's degree in 1990 from Ancilla College. Mindy was
active in 4-H and Polk Township Horse and Pony Club. She had been
working at the MACOG city office in South Bend and at
Interventions, Inc., in Grovertown, Ind.
She is survived by her parents, Diane and
Harry Eskridge of Plymouth;
an aunt, Sandy Smith of South Bend; two cousins, Ashley Smith of South
Bend and Colby Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; her grandfather, Dick Bottorff
of Plymouth; a stepbrother, Keith Eskridge of Rochester; and her
beloved friend, Keith Althouse of Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her
grandparents, Stan and Martha Nickel; her grandmother, Pauline Bottorff;
and by a stepbrother, Michael Eskridge.
Private family services are going to be
held. There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
First United Church of Christ where Mindy was a member, to the
American Diabetes Association, or to the Northern Indiana Branch
of the Arthritis Foundation.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth,
is in charge of the arrangements.
