Mary Ann Newland

Mary Ann Newland, 49, of St. Lo Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Monday, Aug. 4, in Lake Station, Ind., as the result of an automobile accident.

Ms. Newland was born on Aug. 20, 1947, in Plymouth, Ind., as the daughter of Matthew and Ottilia ''Tillie'' Hoogland of Mishawaka, who survive along with three sons, Robert D. of Crown Point, Ind., Matthew P. of Mishawaka and Steven C. Newland of South Bend, Ind.; one granddaughter, Veronica Marie Newland of Crown Point; one step-grandson, Cory Metcalfe of Mishawaka; one sister, Kathleen Marie Cranor of LaPorte, Ind.; and one brother, Michael J. Hoogland of Mishawaka.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, John J. Newland.

Ms. Newland worked for the City of Mishawaka in the controller's office for 17 years and also was managing the Columbus Club of the K of C #1878. She was a member of the Mishawaka Women's Democratic Club.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth Street, Mishawaka. Rev. James Shafer will officiate.

Friends may call one hour prior to the memorial service today in the Hahn Funeral Home.
