Frank M. Nevins Jr.

 Frank M. Nevins Jr., 89. passed away peacefully March 30th in the Dowagiac Nursing Home. He was 89.
 Mr. Nevins was born November 12, 1916, in South Bend, Indiana. The only child of Frank N. and Esther (Johnson) Nevins Sr. He was a graduate of Whittenburg, Ohio University and in 1940 married the former Alice Drake. He was a licensed electrician, a charter member of the Sister Lakes Fire Department, a Toastmaster and in his younger days, an avid hunter and expert wing shot. For many years he owned and operated the Shady Shores Resort at Dewey Lake.
 Mr. Nevins is survived by his sons, Richard (Joanne) of Hartford, Bruce (Marcia) of Dewey Lake, Philip of San Antonio, TX; his daughter, Lt. Lynette Nevins of the Baltimore, MD Police Department. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Troy (Joanie) Nevins and Nicole(Gary) Birkhead, both of Hartford; Tracy and Liberty Nevins of Dewey Lake; great-grandchildren, Drake and Josie Nevins; Luke and Cole Birkhead; and his cousin, Richard Johnson of South Bend.
 He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Alice. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Mishawaka at a later date.
