Harry E. Netherton, 78, went to be
with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 15, 2001, surrounded by his
loved ones. He was born on December 10, 1922, in South Bend, IN,
to William and Bertha (Miller) Netherton, both of whom
preceded him in death. He retired in 1983 from Allied Signal.
On May 29, 1944, in South Bend, he married
Catherine Jensen, who survives. Also surviving are his
children, Nancy Bourdon of Mishawaka, IN, Roger Netherton
of Niles, MI; three grandchildren, Anita Lesher, Bradley (Eloysa)
Bourdon, Douglas (Rachel) Bourdon; five great-grandchildren,
D.J., Tyler, Samantha, Frankie, Bailey; a sister, Lucille (Rev.
Don Martin) Martin of Indianapolis, IN; and by several
nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Lloyd, Earl and Carl,
preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, April 18, 2001, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N.
Bendix Drive, with Rev. Donald Martin officiating. According to
Harry's wishes, cremation will take place. Friends may call from
4 until 6 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
Mr. Netherton was a World War II Army
veteran. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local #9, where he served
as union steward for many years. He was also a member of the
Barron Lake Association. He enjoyed spending and sharing time at
his home at Barron Lake. "Harry and his wit will be missed
greatly by everyone that knew and loved him." Memorial
contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to
the charity of the donor's choice.
