Leah Neiderauer, 90, of the Ironwood Health and
Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind., formerly of 1629
N. College Street, died following a lengthy illness at 4
p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, in the center. Mrs.
Neiderauer was born on Jan. 22, 1909, in Tell City, Ind.,
to Virgil and Elizabeth (Braun) Tate, and
had lived in South Bend since 1929, coming from Atchison,
Kan. On May 26, 1929, in Atchison, as Kathryn L. Tate,
she married Welcome G. Neiderauer, who died on Jan. 19,
1994. She
is survived by a daughter, Judith A. Stockton of
Owasso, Okla.; a son, Welcome G. "Skip" Neiderauer,
Jr., of Easley, S.C.; six grandchildren, Karen Brian
of Jackson, Tenn., Cyndi Murphy of Brandon, Fla.,
Rick Neiderauer of Hendersonville, Tenn., Teri Neiderauer
of West Warwick, R.I., Susan Talley of Tulsa,
Okla., and Mike Stockton of Owasso; and by five
great-grandchildren, Ricky Aguair, Bobby Brian,
Christ Murphy, and Adam and Megan Neiderauer. Mrs.
Neiderauer retired as a secretary from the Bendix
Corporation. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star
Chapter 2, the National Secretary's Association, and was
a longtime member of St. Paul's Memorial United Methodist
Church. Services
will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, in the Welsheimer
Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, with Rev. Mary
Hubbard officiating. Cremation will take place at
Michiana Crematory, with entombment to follow at Highland
Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association,
Northern Indiana Chapter, 425 N. Michigan Street, Suite
