Nicole M. Negri, 30, of Wedgewood Drive, South Bend, Ind., died unexpectedly following a brief illness on Monday evening, Dec. 9, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Ms. Negri was born June 13, 1972, in Downers Grove, Ill., to Anton C. and Karen (Johnson) Negri, and had lived in South Bend since 1996, coming from East Moline, Ill.

She is survived by her parents, Karen Negri of South Bend and Anton C. Negri of East Moline; a daughter, Alexis at home; a son, Nicholas at home; one sister, Anne Marie (Tom) Negri-Budzinski of Granger, Ind.; one brother, Tony (Maribeth) Negri of Chandler, Ariz.; two nieces, Adelina and Victoria Budzinski; one nephew, Stephen Budzinski; and by her maternal grandmother, Adeline Niebauer of South Bend.

Nicole was employed as a cashier at Meijer Department Store. She graduated from J.D. Darnal High School in Geneseo, Ill., and attended Black Hawk College in East Moline, and St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, with Rev. Ronald Tripi, CSC, of Christ the King Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, Ind. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 11, in the funeral home.
