SOUTH BEND - Hazel M. Neely, 85, of
Farrington Circle, died Friday afternoon in her home. Mrs. Neely
retired as a substitute teacher for Clay Township Schools. She
was born May 14, 1909, in Garden City, Kan., and lived in this
area 53 years, coming from Rupert, Idaho.
On Aug. 26, 1935, in Bartlesville, Okla., as
Hazel DeGenhart, she married Orval L. Neely. He died in
1975. Surviving are two daughters, Donna C. Neely of South Bend
and Maureeta M. Caurro of South Bend; a son, Dallas M. of
South Bend; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three
sisters, Esther Nichols of Garden City, Bertha Weeks
of Chelan, Wash., and Gladys Brown of South Bend. She was
a member of Southlawn United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in
Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Burial will
be in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m.
Monday in the funeral home.
