Cecilia Nawrot

Cecilia Nawrot, 94, formerly of Johnson Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 11:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21, in St. Paul's Health Care Center, South Bend.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1904, in Michigan City, Ind., and had lived in South Bend most of her life.

On Nov. 3, 1925, as Cecilia Owezarczak, she married Aloysius J. Nawrot in South Bend. He died on March 2, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and by a son, Daniel A. Nawrot.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas J. (Julie) Nawrot of South Bend and James J. (June) Nawrot of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren, David (Debra) Nawrot of South Bend, Dale Nawrot of Mishawaka, Ind., Debbie (Edward) Monhaut of South Bend, Roxanne (Rich) Scherman of West Columbia, S.C., Nancy (Al) Twisselman of St. Louis, Mo., Jason Nawrot of South Bend and Aaron Nawrot of South Bend; 12 great-grandchildren; and by a daughter-in-law, Dorothy M. Nawrot of South Bend.

Mrs. Nawrot was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish and its Altar and Rosary Society.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.
