NEW CARLISLE - Joventino D. "Ben" Naval Jr., 62, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2008, at 3:39 p.m. in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Ben was born on April 16, 1946, in Manila, Philippines, to Joventino C. Naval, M.D., and Dimpna (Duque) Naval.

On April 18, 1970, he married Amelia Evangelista in Chicago, IL, who survives along with their son, Joventino E. Naval III of New Carlisle; two sisters, Dimpna Goldblatt of Scottsdale, AZ, and Maria Baker of Downers Grove, IL; and two brothers, Colonel Emmanuel Naval, M.D., of Tampa, FL, and Angelito Naval of South Bend. He was the owner of Yellow Cab.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 2, 2008, from 2 to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kennedy Academy, 609 N. Olive St., South Bend, IN 46619; or to St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Road, South Bend, IN 46614.
