OSCEOLA, IN - Gerald R. "Duke"
Naragon, 84 years old, residing on Apple Road in Osceola,
passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2002, at the
Hospice of the Valley, Mesa, AZ. Mr. Naragon was born on
September 3, 1917, in North Liberty, to the late James R. and
Dora Mae (Buss) Naragon. He has resided in Osceola for the past
45 years, moving from South Bend. On August 31, 1940, in South
Bend, he married Fayetta Mae Sherk, who preceded in death
on September 5, 1991. Also preceding in death was an infant
daughter, Marilyn Naragon; two sisters, Gleo Stump and
Genevieve Beron; and one brother, Willard Naragon. Mr.
Naragon retired in 1983 from Bendix Corporation after 27 years of
employment. He was a member of the Pine Creek Church of the
Brethren in North Liberty. Mr. Naragon is survived by two
daughters, Judy (Ron) Nickerson of Osceola and Sharon Allamon
of Carlisle, PA; two sons, Roger (Malsoon) Naragon of Hopewell,
VA, and Gary (Susan) Naragon of Mesa, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth (Leo) Friesner of
Osceola; and two brothers, Wilbur (Helen) Naragon of Wausukee,
WI, and Richard (Alta) Naragon of Elkhart.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2002, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 1109 Lincoln Way West, Osceola. Rev. Adolph Lacy will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, February 1st, at the Palmer Funeral Home, Osceola.
