M. Naples
March
20, 1937 - Dec. 25, 2009
SOUTH BEND - Lucille Marie Naples died on Christmas Day in her
sleep at home in South Bend. Lucille Naples, daughter of the late
John James Naples and Sally Angeline India, was born in Chicago
IL, March 20, 1937. She had three brothers: the late Joseph Jude
Naples, Kenneth Naples and Larry Naples. The family name was
legally changed from Napolitano to Naples in 1943. Lucille is
also survived by daughter, Terri Lynn Dillon, husband, Dave
Dillon, their children, Cara and David Dillon, and daughter,
Kathleen Patricia (Ore) Nebergall, her fiancé, John S. Dugger,
and previous husband, Leif Nebergall, and their children, Melissa
and Bruce Nebergall. Lucille lived her life in the spirit of the
Naples family. A strong heritage of love of God, family, and the
realization that is not a duty but a blessing to help one another
here on earth each and every day. Lucille was married to Ronald
Norman Ore from 1957 to 1977 during which she was a Sunday school
teacher, children's librarian, girl scout leader, and organized a
group for teens concentrating her efforts on healthy creative
activities to keep them off the streets. She produced and
directed shows for children without profit to engage and benefit
the elderly and the disabled. Lucille fostered and mentored more
than a hundred young people who were like her extended family of
children. A few who should be noted are Harry Thiebault, Pegs
(Barth) Jaworski, Patrick Shanley, Roxanne White (children,
Jerrica and Zachery), Jonathon Kraus, Joe Blair (children, Joey
and Gaby) Billie Bradburn and Lawrence Taylor, and the late
Michael Hale. Lucille was a great humanitarian, always working
for the betterment of humanity. In 1981 she founded a non-profit
organization called Unity 11, Inc. with longtime best friend,
Joyce Hug. This organization was dedicated to reaching out to
those individuals who had fallen through the cracks of the social
welfare system. It included job training, food for the poor, and
counseling services. For the past 12 years, Lucille has been the
comptroller for the Michiana Free-Net, a local non-profit
organization providing Internet services and free web hosting to
non-profits. Starting in 2000, she became the admin. assistant
and comptroller for Sacred Waters, Inc., a non-profit
organization dedicated to supporting individuals on their
personal spiritual journeys. Those wishing to pay there respects
may join us in a celebration of her life at Sacred Waters,
located at 16990 Douglas Rd, Mishawaka, on Thursday December
31st, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions
may be made to Sacred Waters, Inc., or to Harry Thibault for a
fund to benefit the educations of the foster grandchildren.
E-mail condolences to Katytrish@yahoo.com. Lucille Naples ashes
will be buried at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, IL, next to
her parents in spring, as per her wishes. Bubb Funeral Chapel
assisted the family with the arrangements.
