Geza J. Nagy, 80, of Bercado Circle,
Mishawaka, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 3 a.m. on
Sunday, Nov. 26, in St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka,
after an illness. Geza was born in South Bend on July 19, 1920,
as the son of the late Menyhart and Julia (Lunk) Nagy. As
a child he attended St. Stephen's School and later Our Lady of
Hungary School. At the age of 19, Geza went to work for
Studebaker as a machine repairman. From 1942 to 1945, he served
as an Army Corpsman on the Asian front in World War II. He
remained a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in South Bend.
After the war, Geza returned to his job at Studebaker and worked
there until 1963, when the factory closed. He then became an
employee of Dodge Manufacturing Co., Mishawaka, and worked there
until he retired in 1980. On Jan. 26, 1952, he married Norma June
Baker who survives. He is also survived by a son, Thomas
Nagy of Mishawaka, a stepson, Rich Baker of Orlando, Fla.; a
granddaughter; and two great- granddaughters. His sisters,
Yolanda Hegedus and Marian Lukavich, both preceded
him in death.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on
Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. Eighth Street,
Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our
Lady of Hungary Church, South Bend, with Rev. Thaddeus Kwak
officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery,
South Bend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our
Lady of Hungary Church Fund, 829 W. Calvert St., South Bend, Ind.
