Valora P. Myers, 83, of Mescik, MI, formerly of South Bend, IN, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Tendercare of Manistee, Mich. She was born on May 10, 1918, in South Bend, IN, as the daughter of Roy and Elsie (Lawson) Emerick, and resided in this community until moving to Mescik, MI, in 1975.

On September 9, 1937, in South Bend, IN, she married Norman A. Myers, who passed away December 14, 1998. Mrs. Myers is survived by a daughter, Gail Young of South Bend; two sons, Norman Dale Myers of South Bend and Jay Kurt Myers of Mescik, MI; seven grandchildren, Dirk (Mary Jo) Young of South Bend, Doug (Theresa) Young of Denver, CO, Darci Young of South Bend, Kathy Myers and Kelly (Gene) Garren, both of Mishawaka, Kristine (Kirk) Smith of Fort Wayne, IN, and Mandie Myers of South Bend; three great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Cassie and Jamie Young of South Bend; and five brothers, Don Emerick and Lee Emerick, both of South Bend, Ernie Emerick of Colorado Springs, CO, Gene Emerick of Scottsdale, AZ, and Roy Emerick of Denver, CO.

Memorial services for Mrs. Myers will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2001, at Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Barry England, C.S.C., will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Round Lake Cemetery, Knox, IN. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to services on Wednesday in the funeral home.
