Robert D. Myers, 58, of Tea Rose Lane, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.
Bob was born Nov. 11, 1942, in Mishawaka, as the son of the late August and Mary (Hudkins) Myers. Bob was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Sawyer.
On May 30, 1964, in South Bend, he married the former Barbara Callsen, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Stacie (Michael) Kensinger and Lisa (Michael) Lang, both of Mishawaka; two sisters, Barbara Freshour of South Bend and Jean Hodges of Marcellus, Mich.; and by five brothers, Jesse Myers of South Bend, William Myers of Granger, Ind., Tom Myers of Rockford, Mich., L.G. Myers and Charles Myers, both of Mishawaka.
Mr. Myers retired in 1998 from the Mishawaka F ire Department after 26 years of service. He also worked for Big C Lumber for 12 years. Bob was a United States Marine Corps veteran, a member of V.F.W. Post 360, and a member of IAFF L ocal 360 (International Association of Fire Fighters).
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, in Christ the King Lutheran C hurch, 17195 Cleveland Road, South Bend, with Rev. William Garfkjen officiating, and where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
