SOUTH BEND - Mervin "Bud" A. Myers, 90, passed away at
11:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2010, in his residence. Mervin
was born on May 26, 1919, in Plymouth, IN, to the late Aaron and
Agnes (Vinall) Myers. On September 5, 1946, he married Catherine
G. (Toth), who preceded him in death on October 11, 2005. He was
also preceded in death by his two sisters, Mary Pershing and
Julia Smith; his brother, John James; and by his half brother,
Forest Myers. He is survived by his sister, Irene Flynn of
Elkhart; and by his niece, Ramona Lute of South Bend; nephews,
Frank, Gerald and Wayne Toth, and Rudy (Judy) Destics; and many
cousins. Bud moved to South Bend in 1936 from Plymouth to take a
job with the New York Pattern Company. He then worked for Bendix
for 43 years before retiring in 1981. He was a member of Masonic
Lodge #675 and the Scottish Rite. Bud was a good photographer and
he loved John Deere tractors. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m.
to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, in ST. JOSEPH
FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Masonic service will begin
at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m.
on January 28, 2010, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at
Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to
Masonic Home, 690 State St., Franklin, IN 46131. For those who
are unable to attend the Masonic service, condolences for the
