John Kamau Mwaniki

SOUTH BEND - John Kamau Mwaniki, 59, passed away at 5:30
p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, after a short battle with bone marrow
cancer (multiple myeloma). He was born January 1, 1949, in Kenya
to Mr. Cyrus Mwaniki Kariuki and the late Elizabeth Nyamweru
Mwaniki. He is survived by his wife, Violet Kamau; two
daughters, Carolle Kamau Kirori and Jane Kamau; a son,
Cyrus Kamau; a son-in-law, John Kirori; two grandchildren, Tyrick
Kamau and Vanessa Violet, all of South Bend; and his
father, Cyrus Mwaniki Kamau of Kenyz. Also surviving are two
sisters-in-law, Miriam (Dedan) Karengo of Niles, Ruth
(Elijah) Lengete of Dallas, TX; a brother-in-law, Duncan Karanja
of South Bend; many nephews and nieces. Surviving in addition to
those in United States are his parents-in-law, Mr. And Mrs.
Nahashon Hinga of Kenya; five sisters, three brothers, a
sister-in-law, and five brothers-in-law, all of Kenya.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday
Sept. 21 in the First Presbyterian Church, Mishawaka, from 4 to 7
p.m. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday Sept. 22 in the
Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, followed immediately by the burial at
Highland Cemetery. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home has been
entrusted with funeral arrangements.
