SOUTH BEND - John H. Murray, 82, passed away Friday
morning, June 20th, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He had
resided in Byron Healthcare Center, 12101 Lima Road, Ft. Wayne,
for over 10 years. He was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Yazoo, MS, to
the union of Wright Murray and Ethel (Buckner) Murray. He
went to the 10th grade in Yazoo, MS. He was drafted into the Army
in World War II, and after serving his country he received an
honorable discharge. After being discharged from the service, he
moved to South Bend in 1945. He never married or had children. He
worked at Oliver, Studebaker, and he did construction work. He
loved listening to music, liked watching the news, baseball and
TV. His mother and father preceded him in death, two sisters, a
brother, a niece and nephew, two great-nieces and two
great-great-nieces. He leaves to cherish his memories two
nephews, George Jackson and Robert Morrison, and a niece,
Vera Humphrey, living in South Bend. Also 11
great-great-nephews, 13 great-great-nieces, two
great-great-great-nephews and a great-great-great-niece.
Visitation will be at noon and services will be at 1 p.m. in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, on Friday, June 27th. Burial will follow funeral services at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
