Dorothy Mae Murray, 62, beloved wife
of Jack and devoted mother of Diana (Hardy) of Mishawaka,
Bonnie (Juday) of Dowagiac and Kirk of South Bend, died on
Saturday afternoon at her home in Dowagiac after a lengthy
illness. Her visitation will be on Tuesday at Groner Funeral Home
from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral will take place on
Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Groner Funeral Home.
Dorothy (Nicely) was born on Feb. 8,
1934, in South Bend. She and Jack married on Oct. 19, 1952 in
South Bend and moved to their current home in the Twin Lakes area
of Dowagiac in 1977. She was both a homemaker and a bus attendent
for handicapped students at Lewis Cass School for nine years
prior to retirement in 1987. She was a member of the Order of the
Eastern Star, Chapter 2 of South Bend and a Mother Advisor of
Rainbow Girls, Assembly 1 of South Bend.
Along with her husband and three children,
she is survived by eight grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren, as well as three brothers, Richard Nicely
and Walter Nicely Jr. both of South Bend and Virgil Nicely of
Elkhart; two half-brothers, David Nicely of Three Oaks and Danny
Nicely of Glendora, Mich.; three stepbrothers, Robert Rosenthal
of Portage, Mich., Leroy Rosenthal of Three Oaks and Ronnie
Rosenthal of Niles; and a stepmother, Adeline Nicely of Glendora,
Mich. Memorial contributions can be made to VNA Hospice of
Southwest Michigan.
