Mishawaka - Joseph C. Murphy, 78,
of 1546 Lincoln Way East, died this morning in St. Joseph
Hospital, where he had been taken a few hours by police in the
city ambulance after suffering an apparent heart attack in his
home. He had been in failing health for two years. Born in
Henderson Ky., on Dec. 29, 1895, he came to Mishawaka from
Evansville in 1929.
He retired from the Dodge Manufacturing
Corp., Division of Reliance Electric, after 35 years of
employment. He married Eleanor Clary in Kentucky in 1912,
and she died in 1945. He married Stella Lyvers in
Mishawaka on July 3. 1965. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Gerald of
Osceola and Randall of Mishawaka; a daughter Mrs. Norman Coyner
of Oseola; a stepson, Martin Lyvers of Franklin, four
step-daughters, Mrs. Norman Lind of Columbus, Ohio; Mrs.
John Seago of Niles, Mrs Louis Toth of Mishawaka
and Mrs. Daniel Rich of Arizona; three sisters, Mrs.
Joseph Burger of California, Mrs Gertrude Wayne of South Bend and
Mrs. Marie Rummage of Stanley, Ky.; and ten grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. Thursday at the Bubb Funeral Chapel. He was a member of St.
Joseph Catholic Church parish.

Funeral services for Joseph C. Murphy, 78,
of 1546 Lincoln Way East, who died Wednesday in St. Joseph
Hospital, will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic
Church. Msgr, Curt A, Suelzer, pastor, will officiate, and burial
will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may
call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday
at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, where the rosary will be recited at
7:30 p.m. today.
Editor: The maiden name of his second wife Stella Mae Lyvers, was Stella Mae Clary.
