JoAnn E. Murphy, long-time director of Camp Tannadoonah, died after a short illness on Friday, July 2, in Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. ''M'' was born on Sept. 21, 1929, to George and Adeline (Ashcroft) Eberhart of Mishawaka, Ind. She graduated from Mishawaka High School and attended Hanover College. During her school years, she was a national baton twirling champion. She worked for Camp Fire Girls for over 35 years. The last 28 were spent directing Camp Tannadoonah on Birch Lake, Vandalia, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by a brother, George Eberhart III.
She is survived by a daughter, Kristen Murphy of South Bend, Ind.; a son, Michael Murphy of Mishawaka; two grandchildren, Meghan and Colin Murphy; and by a sister, Bette Gerard of Mishawaka.
There will be no visitation.
A private memorial service will be held.
