James Francis Murphy

Funeral services for James F. Murphy, 84, of Jerseyville, Ill., father of Rev. Joseph F. Murphy CSC, assistant pastor of Holy Cross Church, will be Tuesday morning in Holy Ghost Church, Jerseyville, with burial there. Mr. Murphy died Saturday in Jerseyville Hospital. Father Murphy, who is the former pastor of St. Joseph Church will officiate at the services.

In addition to his widow Florence , and son, Mr. Murphy is survived by five daughters,  Mrs. John Metzger of Elkhart, Mrs. Frances Cajon of California, Mrs. Victor Kallal of Greenville, Ill., Miss Marie Murphy of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Harry Duncan of Cincinnati; and another son, Jay Murphy of Alton, Ill.
