MISHAWAKA - Dale E. Munger, 70, of Mishawaka passed away on
Monday, December 21, 2009 at 10:10 p.m. in St. Joseph's Regional
Medical Center after an apparent heart attack. Dale was born July
14, 1939, to the late Odon "Red" Munger and Pauline
Angel in Hammond, IN. He is survived by one brother, Dean
(Shirley) Munger of Zephyrs Hills, Fl. He also leaves behind his
loving companion, Elsie Downhour. One sister, JoAnna Williams and
a brother, Jerry Munger preceded him in death. He worked for
Hilltop Farms as a truck driver until his death. Dale was a
veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War, where he
received the Purple Heart after being wounded in service for his
country. Dale was an avid NASCAR fan and devoted fan of the
Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts. Visitation will take
place at Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral
Home located at West Ireland/SR #23, South Bend from 2 to 6 p.m.
on Saturday, December 26, 2009, with Pastor Jan Dimmick
officiating. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home
on Sunday December 27, 2009, at 1 p.m. The Green Twp. Lions club
will conduct a memorial service at 6 p.m. Saturday in the funeral
home. Dale's wishes were to be cremated, which his loving family
honored. In lieu of flowers, PLEASE make all memorial
contributions to the Green Township Lions Club, where he was a
member. The HANLEY and Sons "Southwest Chapel"
Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extend
its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Munger family.
