MISHAWAKA - Joseph F. Muellner, 92,
of Countryside Place, formerly of Parkwood Circle, Mishawaka,
Ind., died at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Countryside
Place. Mr. Muellner was born on Aug. 22, 1906, to Joseph F. and
Elizabeth (Dogotch) Muellner in South Bend, Ind., and was
a lifetime area resident.
On Oct. 23, 1980, in South Bend, he married
Vivian N. Charles, who preceded him in death on April 27,
1998. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Rose Breackevelt,
Mary Claeys and Kathryn J. Muellner; a brother, John
Muellner; and by a stepdaughter, Louanne Amour. He is
survived by a sister, Betty Scott of South Bend; a
stepdaughter, Karen Robertson of Mishawaka; a stepson,
Darryl Schmucker of Florence, Ala.; and by several nieces
and nephews. Mr. Muellner retired from the Bendix Corporation in
1967 as a quality control inspector after 27 years. He was a
graduate of South Bend High School and the University of Notre
Dame. He was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church for
five years, and Holy Cross Catholic Church prior to that. He was
also an Army veteran of World War II, a member of DAV Chapter 6,
the German Progress Club, and the St. Steven's Sick Benefit
Society.
A funeral Mass will be observed at 10 a.m.
on Friday in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, with Rev.
Barry England officiating. Burial will follow in Highland
Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in
the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, where a
Rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. today.
