SOUTH BEND - John A. Mueller, 87, of North Blvd. de La Paix, died at 8:20 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center of natural causes. Mr. Mueller retired from Cuneo Press Co., Chicago, as a printer after 40 years of service and was a steel sales representative in the Chicago area for 15 years. He was born Jan. 31, 1906, in Chicago, and lived in South Bend for 16 years, coming from Chicago.

On Nov. 27, 1929, in Chicago, he married Margaret M. Staudenmaier. She survives with two sons, Thomas J. of South Bend and John W. of Middleburg, Fla.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara Thompson of Chicago; and a brother, Raymond of Orland Park, Ill. He was a member of St. Anthonoy de Padua Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., where a parish rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m.
