SOUTH BEND - Harry J. Mrozinski, 91, of Regency Place of
South Bend, formerly of Westmoor Street, passed away at 3:50
p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2008, in Regency Place. Harry was
born on April 1, 1917, in Rolling Prairie, IN, to Stanley and
Cora (Mnichowski) Mrozinski, and was a lifelong resident.
He retired on July 1, 1975, from the Bendix Corporation, where he
had been employed for 411/2 years. On June 22, 1946, in St.
Adalbert Church, he married Clementine A. Splawski, who
preceded him in death on December 13, 2002. Also preceding him in
death were two brothers, Eugene and Stanley Mrozinski. Survivors
include his daughter, Paula (Jim) Szekendi of South Bend,
IN; his son, Rev. Ronald Mrozinski of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two
grandsons, Tim and Tom Szekendi, both of South Bend; one brother,
Richard (Natalie) Mrozinski of South Bend, IN; and by several
nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
10:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, in Corpus Christi Church, with
Rev. Ronald Mrozinski officiating. Entombment will follow at St.
Joseph Cemetery, where members of the American Legion Pulaski
Post #357 will conduct military services. Friends may call from
9:30 until 10:00 a.m. on Monday in Corpus Christi Church. Harry
was a W.W. II Army veteran, serving as a staff sergeant in the
South Pacific. He was a member of American Legion Pulaski Post
#357, the Bendix Retirees, and was a lifelong member of St.
Stanislaus Parish. Harry was a penwright and enjoyed making pens
with his friends at Arborwood Assisted Living. The family would
like to extend special thanks to the staff of Regency Place for
the love and care that they gave to Harry. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to Cross International, 600
S.W. 3rd Street, Pompano Beach, FL 33060.
