GRANGER - John B. Mountsier, 54, passed away on Sunday morning,
December 6, 2009, at his home in Granger, IN. Born September 21,
1955, in Montclair, NJ, he was the son of John Stevenson and
Dorothy Johnson Mountsier. He is survived by his mother and
father; his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" V. Mountsier; son
and daughter, Ricky and Maggie Mountsier; his sister and
brother-in-law, Susan and Nicholas Passero, and their daughters;
and his lifelong friend, Ric Price. John married Libby on
September 27, 1980, in Hammond, IN. He completed a B.S. in
metallurgy from Lehigh University, an M.B.A. from Indiana
University, and recently a B.A. in education from Indiana
Wesleyan University. He worked for and retired from
Arcelor-Mittal Steel Company (formerly Inland Steel/IN Tek and
I/N Kote) in Burns Harbor, IN, where he served as both the
manager of quality control and the president for 36 years. He
recently began a career at Michigan City High School teaching
math. He was a member of Clay Church and numerous professional
and industry organizations. He served on the board of the
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Northern Indiana Chapter in
South Bend. He was an avid runner, golfer, and football fan. Most
importantly, he was a loving father, husband and son. He was
passionate and dedicated in everything he did. He was extremely
loyal to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by

Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (enter off Cherry Road),
Wednesday, Dec. 9th, from 3-8 PM. Funeral services will be held
today, Dec. 10th, at 1 PM in Clay Church, 52866 N. Ironwood Road,
with visitation one hour prior. Rather than sending flowers, the
family would prefer to have donations made in John's memory to
the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Northern Indiana
Chapter, 2004 Ironwood Circle, Suite 140, South Bend, IN 46635.
