SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth "Betty" Mott, 94, passed
peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2008, in Saint Joseph Regional
Medical Center, South Bend, with her niece and nephews by her
side. Elizabeth was born on August 8, 1913, in South Bend, to the
late Michael and Josephine (Wentland) Andrysiak.
On June 28,1938, she married Marion
"Gene" Mott, who preceded her in death in 1966. She was
also preceded in death by her step-daughter, Anabel; three
brothers, Leo, Hank and Eugene; and by her sister, Florence. She
is survived by a granddaughter, Susan of Fort Wayne, IN; two
step-granddaughters, Diane and Susan; her cousin, Charlotte Wentland
of South Bend; nephews, Paul (Becki) Andrysiak and David (Fran)
Andrysiak both of South Bend; her nieces, Jeannette (Albert) Hillman
of Scottsdale, AZ, Therese (Tom) Van Hoof of Los Angeles,
CA, Elizabeth (Ron) Westlund, her name sake and
goddaughter of Chatsworth, CA, and Shelley (Ron) Barger of
Niles, MI.
Betty will be fondly remembered for her
enduring faith and practice of the Catholic religion; her
generosity; her sense of humor; her intellectual curiosity and
knowledge of current events; her devotion to her family; her love
of animals; and her sense of style and design. She was a very
engaging and conversant woman. Betty was a lifelong member of St.
Hedwig Parish. Her multifaceted work experience included owning a
bakery in Tipton, IN, with her husband, Gene; being a color
stylist with O'Brien Paint, South Bend; with St. Hedwig's
Memorial Center; and with the University of Notre Dame, South
Dining Hall.
ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower
Road, South Bend is assisting the family. A graveside service
will be held on Saturday, March 15, at 9:00 a.m. at Highland
Cemetery, South Bend.
