James Walter Morris
June 23, 1919 - May 16, 2002
James Walter Morris, 82, of Port St.
Lucie, Fla., formerly of the South Bend-Niles area, passed away
after a lengthy illness on May 16, 2002, in the St. Lucie Medical
Center. He was born June 23, 1919, in Bridgeport, Ill., to Rufus
and Anna Mae Morris. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy
during World War II. Mr. Morris retired from the former Bendix
Corporation after 35 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Sally (Sarah) of
57 years. He is also survived by three sons, James (Diane) of
Phoenix, Ariz., Jack (Janet) of South Bend and Robert of Hobe
Sound, Fla.; two daughters, Terry (John) Tollefson of
Wilmington, N.C., and Patty (Mike) Kelly of Yorktown, Va.;
14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Kemper of
Evansville, Ind., and by a brother, Ted (Nora) of Newark, Del.
Funeral services were held May 21, 2002, in
the Young Prill Funeral Chapel, Port St. Lucie, with a military
graveside service at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, Fla.
