MISHAWAKA - Robert James Morman, 75, of 1501 Tremont Drive, died at 10 p.m. Thursday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Fort Wayne after an illness. Mr. Morman retired after more than 30 years as a foreman at Uniroyal. He was born April 23, 1919, in Columbus Grove, Ohio, and moved from Osceola to Mishawaka in 1961.
On Oct. 12, 1980, in South Bend, he married Maryann Lanko. She died in 1992. Surviving are a son, Denny R. of Mishawaka; a stepdaughter, Theresa Guarino of Madison, Ind.; a stepson, John J. Lanko of Chicago; a grandchild; six step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; and a sister, Florence Doepker of Columbus, Ohio.
He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 360, a member of Queen of Peace Church where he ushered, a member of Uniroyal Retirees, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Warner Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
