Maria Moriconi, 85, of Alabama
Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 11:40 a.m. Saturday, March 27,
in the home of her son and daughter-in-law in South Bend, Ind.
She was surrounded by loving family who will miss her warmth and
generosity of spirit. Maria was well-known for her skills as a
cook, her gardening abilities, and her love of family.
Maria was born on March 5, 1919, in Alatri,
Italy, to Irena and Cepriano Cardinali.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Angelo L. Moriconi, whom she married on Sept. 12, 1940, and who
died on Feb. 22, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her two
sisters and three brothers, who all resided in Italy.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Parish in
Mishawaka and the Women's Auxiliary at DeAmici's Club.
She is survived by her son, Frank Moriconi
(Martha) of South Bend, and her daughter, Anna Urick
(Robert) of Hammond, Ind. She is also survived by four
grandchildren, Michael Moriconi (Heather), Gina Bognar
(Kevin), Lisa Rumely (Matthew) and Thomas Urick (Nicole).
Maria is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Bradley
Bognar, Eleanor Bognar and Jane Rumely.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m.
today, March 30, in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St.,
Mishawaka, with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday, March 31, in Saint Joseph Church, Mishawaka.
