Sister M. Francis Cecile CSC, 83, of Holy Cross Convent, 3720 Miami, died at 7:30 Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Born Sept. 9, 1896 in Elkhart, she served as a music teacher at St. Joseph Grade School, and at several schools in the state and in Chicago, Colorado, Washington DC and Nebraska. As Mary Cecilia Moran, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters o the Holy Cross on Oct. 31, 1920 and on Aug. 15, 1921 she was received as a novice. On Aug. 15, 1923 she was accepted into the order. She is survived by a sister, Catherine Moran of Indianapolis.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, St. Mary’s, and burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s. Friends may call until 3 p.m. today at the Holy Cross Convent. The body will then be taken to St. Mary’s Convent Parlors, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. A wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the church.
