Mary G. Moorman, 93, of Dice Street, passed away after a one-month illness at 1:15 a.m. on Friday, April 24, in her home. She was born on Dec. 25, 1904, to Clara and Edward Huber, and was a lifetime South Bend resident. She had 25 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
On June 9, 1925, she married Clement H. Moorman, who passed away on March 27, 1974. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Thomas Moorman, Jr., and Kimberly Kuzmic; a great-grandchild, infant Nicholas Boehman; and by three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Jo (Robert) Miller and Mary Ann (Dr. Eugene) Kuzmic, both of South Bend, Ind.; three sons, Clement B. (Nancy) of Indianapolis, Ind., Thomas E. (Rosemary) of Mishawaka, Ind., and John A. (Dorothy) of Granger, Ind.; and by a sister, Emelia Long of South Bend. Mrs. Moorman retired after 21 years as manager of Trustmark, formerly Benefit Trust Life Insurance Company.
She was a charter member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, first president of the Rosary Sodality, and founder and president of St. Jude's V.I.P. Club. She received the St. Jude award, was a Eucharistic minister, taught CCD, and was a member of St. Catherine's Circle, Josephita Club and Elizabethan Ladies of K. of C. Council 5521.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, at the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 27, at St. Jude's Catholic Church, with Rev. James Stoyle officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
