Mary Ann Moon (May 19, 1923 - March 7, 2009).

GRANGER - Mary Ann Moon, 85, of Granger, IN, passed away at 7:30 PM Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Community North Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. She was born on May 19, 1923, in Mishawaka, IN, to Andrew and Mary (Nagy) Fuzy, and remained a lifelong resident. On April 17, 1943, in San Francisco, CA, she married her high school sweetheart, Homer E. Moon, who passed away on June 2, 2001. Mrs. Moon is survived by her daughter, Judy (Donald) Smith of Wausau, WI; sons, Dennis Moon of Bremen, Gary (Gail) Moon of Indianapolis and Marty (Meg) Moon of Hayward, WI; eight grandchildren, Jeff Moon, Kelly Hannan, Kristie Moon, Douglas Moon, Nick Moon, Jennifer Hannan, Bryan Moon and Brian Moon. One sister, Emma Hartman, and one brother, Andy Fuzy, preceded her in death. Mary Ann's quilting, needlework and sewing were her passion. Her handiwork will be treasured by her children and grandchildren. Mary Ann served as a role model for her family as a wife and mother. She will be dearly missed. Mary Ann was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM. Thursday, March 12th, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN. Rev. William Schooler will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM & 7 to 9 PM today in the Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, and a vigil service will be held at 8:30 PM. Friends may also visit with the family one hour prior to the 10:30 AM service on Thursday in the church. Contributions in memory of Mary Ann Moon may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church or to Nephrology Inc. of Mishawaka, 710 Park Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
