Gerald "Pat" Moon, 74, passed away on Thursday, May 18, in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn.
He was born on March 17, 1926, in South Bend, Ind., the son of the late Don and Edna Jester Moon, and received his education at Riley High School, South Bend.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kermit and Dale; and by two sisters, Marguerite and Virginia.
Pat served in the Navy during World War II and, following his discharge, worked in the building trades until attending DeVry Tech, Chicago, Ill.
In 1957 Pat married Mary Ann Hunziker at Lake City, Iowa, and following their marriage he was employed in Fort Wayne, Ind., as a radio and television engineer until 1972, at which time the family moved to Spencer, Iowa. While living in Spencer he was an insurance agent for 16 years before retiring in 1988. After his retirement he assisted at the Baumgarten and Warner funeral homes for many years.
Pat was known for his love for his Savior through years of service to his church, his family, his interest and generosity to those around him, and he especially loved to fish.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Ann; daughters, Leslee of Denver, Colo., Lori (Jay) Black of Spencer, and their daughters, Jordan and Alexa; a sister, Mildred Ludwig; and one brother and his wife, Cecil (Louise), all of South Bend; nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Brad (Gail) Bernardy and Laura (Carl) Carlentini; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 22, in Christ the King Lutheran Church, Spencer.
The Warner Funeral Home, Spencer, handled the arrangements.
