Vivian T. Montgomery, 67, beloved
wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who resided at 3801
Riverside Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 12:50 p.m. on
Wednesday, June 10, at Rush-St. Luke Medical Center in Chicago,
Ill., following a serious lifetime illness of sickle cell anemia
and complications after surgery. She was born in Stayton, Tenn.,
on Jan. 6, 1931, to the late Bessie Moody and James Johnson. She
was a resident of South Bend for 31 years.
She married her husband of 39 years, Arnell
R. Montgomery, Sr., on July 17, 1958. She leaves to cherish her
memory her husband and eight children, Diana Whitt of
Gary, Ind., Matthew Johnson of South Bend, Donald Johnson
of Chicago, Ronald Johnson of Chicago, Brenda Smith of South
Bend, Arnell Montgomery, Jr., of South Bend, Terrence Montgomery
of Indianapolis, Ind., and Kerry Montgomery of South Bend; 15
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters,
Wilhelmina Orr, Thelma Jones and Dorothy Clayton;
four brothers, Curtis Johnson, James Johnson, Warren Johnson and
Fred Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was
preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Womack of South
Bend; and by a sister, Earlene Penn.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on
Saturday, June 20, at Roseland Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's
Witnesses, 52248 Laurel Road, South Bend.
