SOUTH BEND - Gustavo B. Montana, 64, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 2:53 p.m. in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Gustavo was born on March 29, 1944, in La Sara, TX, to the late Apolinar and Mariana (Balboa) Montana. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dora E. Rodriguez. On February 14, 1976, he married Connie (Peregrine) in South Bend, who survives along with their children, Michelle Montana, Steven Montana and Michael Montana, all of South Bend; four grandchildren, Michael and Jay Montana, Samantha and Rachel Pellaton; six sisters, Elvia Ambriz of Jourdanton, TX, Jayne Leyba of Corpus Christi, TX, Ann Garza of South Bend, Antonia Martinez of South Bend, Criselda Montana of South Bend and Herminia Montana of South Bend; and by his brother, Jose M. Montana of South Bend. Gustavo was a Corvett enthusiast, going to many car shows. He enjoyed making yard decorations and bowling. He worked for South Bend Stamping for 30 years, and Cequent Towing in Goshen for three years.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. Vigil prayers will be prayed at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
