Joanne C. Monk, 66, of Galway Court, South Bend, Ind., died at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

She was born on July 9, 1934, in Manistee, Mich., and she and her husband have made their home in South Bend for the last 41 years. Prior to moving to South Bend, they lived in several states while her husband was serving in the United States Navy.

She was married on May 2, 1953, in Bear Lake, Mich., as Joanne C. Ware, to John C. Monk. He survives with three daughters, Jackie (Brad) Klute of Columbus, Ohio, Pam (Marc) Jones of South Bend, and Alison Monk of Mishawaka, Ind.; four grandchildren, Tara and Natalie Klute of Columbus, Ohio, and Molly and Colin Jones of South Bend; and her brother, Jerry Ware of Manistee.

Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Sept. 19, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road, South Bend, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
