Ruth K. Monhaut, 72, of Bremen, passed away Friday at 2:15 a.m. at Regency Place, South Bend. She was born the daughter of Harry A. and Margaret M. (Dundon) Monhaut on October 2, 1926, in Mishawaka, Ind. A beautician and owner/operator of the Wyatt Beauty Shop, she was a lifetime resident of Bremen. Ms. Monhaut was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Bremen. Ruth's life was one of service to God, her family, and the community.
She is survived by four sisters, Margaret M. Williams of Granger, Helen E. Smogor of South Bend, Cecilia A. Dolan of Elkhart and Joan I. Richard of Mishawaka; and four brothers, Edward H. Monhaut of Nappanee, Ralph R. Monhaut of Bremen, Richard E. Monhaut of Mishawaka, and B. Patrick Monhaut of Bremen. Ms. Monhaut was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Joseph; and two infant brothers, John and David.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, in St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Bremen with Father Robert Dombrowski officiating. Burial will be at Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, where a Rosary will be said at 6 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Bremen and Community Hospital of Bremen.
