Bernice M. "Beanie" Molnar,
74, of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 7:33 p.m. Wednesday
evening, Oct. 10, in Regency Place Care and Rehabilitation, South
Bend. She was born March 3, 1927, in South Bend, to William and
Margaret (Scanlon) Wermuth.
On May 10, 1947, she married Herbert Hoppe,
who died in 1960. On June 11, 1966, she married Eugene
"Peenie" Molnar, who died in 1999. She was also
preceded in death by her sisters, Leitha "Lee" Brubaker
and Georgiana Oppenheim. She is survived by her daughter,
Deborah (Wesley) Scott of South Bend; grandchildren,
Michael E., Wesley B. Jr. and Michelle Scott of South Bend;
great-grandchildren, Jayda, Jasmine, Tyler and Nicholas; a
brother, Lloyd Wermuth of South Bend; and by several nieces and
nephews. Mrs. Molnar worked for the University of Notre Dame and
Bendix Corporation of South Bend. She was a graduate of South
Bend Central High School and belonged to Holy Trinity Lutheran
Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on
Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William
Street, with Rev. David Doane officiating. Cremation will take
place after services, and burial will be at St. Joseph Valley
Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call after 10 a.m. on
Saturday until time of services. Memorial contributions may be
made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or to Hospice of St. Joseph
County.
