SOUTH BEND - Salvatore T. Molinaro, 82, of Holy Cross
Village, Notre Dame, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 10,
2007, at Dujarie House, Notre Dame, Indiana. Salvatore was born
on December 29, 1924, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania to Luigi and
Maria (Palladino) Molinaro. He had been employed with the
former Drewry's Brewery in South Bend and Niles Precision in
Niles, Illinois.
On May 19, 1945, Salvatore married Patricia Hansen who
preceded him in death on March 13, 1981. Surviving are his
children, Daniel (Barbara) Molinaro of Houston, Texas, Rev.
Kenneth Molinaro, C.S.C. of Notre Dame, Indiana, Kathleen (Bob) Carpenter
of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Joseph (Mary) Molinaro of Lexington,
Kentucky and Anna Grace Riblet of Granger, Indiana;
grandchildren, Jeffrey Molinaro, Andrea Davidson, Gemma Parenti,
Brian Carpenter, Sean Carpenter, Kimberly Carpenter, Brittany
Riblet and Justin Molinaro; great-grandchildren, Mikaela, Mia,
Emma, Grace, Isabella, Luke, Hannah and Giovanni; and his
brother, Henry (Rita) Molinaro of Connellsville, Pennsylvania.
Salvatore was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Gaetano,
Louise, Carmine, Amedeo, Julius, Gemma, Nathaline, Michael,
Orlando, Anna Grace, Louis, and Carmela.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2007, in
Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend,
Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30
a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2007, in the Basilica of the Sacred
Heart, Notre Dame. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery,
Notre Dame.
Salvatore was a life member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in
South Bend and a Navy Veteran of World War II, where he served as
an aircraft carrier radioman. Memorial contributions may be made
