MISHAWAKA - Robert W. Moffitt, 89, of Golden Living Center
in Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008,
in the nursing home. Robert was born August 3, 1918, in Rolling
Prairie, Indiana, to Elmer and Clara (Hooten) Moffitt. He
retired as the paymaster from the former Torrington Corporation
after 40 years.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Horn of
Hollywood, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Sisters, Lois
Rogers, Thelma Riley, Carol Fox, Helen Wykoff,
and brothers, William, Richard, Eston, George, Gene and Randall
Moffitt, all preceded him in death. Robert was a WWII Army
veteran, a life member of the American Legion in Florida, a
member of Terre Coupee Masonic Lodge #204 F&AM, New Carlisle,
and the South Bend Valley Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite.
Funeral services for Robert will be at 1
p.m. Monday, February 11, 2008, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home,
201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Indiana, where visitation
will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will
follow at Olive Chapel Cemetery, New Carlisle, Indiana. Memorial
contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
