OSCEOLA - Marie Modos, 71, of Osceola, passed away at 3:15
a.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in her home, surrounded by
family after a courageous battle with cancer. Marie was born on
October 1, 1936, in Kapuvar, Hungary to the late Istvan and Anna
(KissVamosi) Toth. She is also preceded in death by
one sister, Anna Hoffer; and one brother, Istvan Toth, Jr.
On May 18, 1957, she married Ernest Modos, who survives; along
with two daughters, Maryann (Scott) Harman and Kathleen
(Gregory) Morris, both of Osceola; two grandchildren, Kyle
W. Parish and Samantha Jazayeri; and one sister,
Elizabeth Kalai of Seregeyes, Hungary. Marie was a member
of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her
love of gardening, cooking and sewing and her constant love and
devotion to her family. She retired from the former Uniroyal
after 27 years of service.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 p.m.,
Sunday, September 7, 2008, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776
McKinley Highway, Osceola. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.,
Sunday in the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at
10:00 a.m., Monday, September 8, 2008, in the funeral home with
entombment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Rev. Daniel Scheidt will officiate Memorial contributions may be
